Unique Hummingbird Feeders

Hummingbird feeders are nectar feeders designed specifically for hummingbirds. Hanging these feeders near windows gives you the opportunity to watch these entertaining birds up close. If multiple feeders are hung in different locations, not only can you observe more hummingbirds, but there will be less competition for a feeder. It is easy to make your own nectar. Just mix one part white sugar to 4 parts water. 

Your hummingbird feeders provide extra energy but are not their main food source. Primarily, they feed on small insects and the nectar in flowers. The best feeders are sturdy and easy to clean. Some have a perch for the birds to rest on and most have multiple feeding ports. Please don't put red food coloring in the nectar! It's not good for the birds and doesn't help to attract them. Be sure to wash your hummingbird feeders with hot, soapy water and rinse thoroughly every time you refill them. If mold should appear, empty feeder and scrub right away.
